Whenever someone finds out that I am a photographer, the first question is what type of photography I do. My standard reply is Portrait and Wedding photography. While that is my passion, I also enjoy the occasional break to do other types of photography such as Landscapes, Macro, Astrophotography, Real Estate, and Architectural Photography. The truth is, I see beauty in almost everything and when I'm really lucky I get paid to venture outside of portraits and weddings. Here are some examples of some recent real estate shots I was hired to do in Dallas, Tx.
The shot below was taken with a very expensive lens that is the widest angle you can purchase for a non-fisheye lens. In case you are wondering what a fisheye lens is, it's what makes the pictures where everything looks like it is curved into a circle. This amazing lens manages to keep all the angles straight and makes interiors look very large. This is actually a 480 square foot apartment.
The image below is an HDR picture, meaning that I took three seperate pictures and merged them into a single photo. The three pictures had different exposures so that I could capture the interior as well as the image you see through the window.
For this shot I used a smaller aperature so that I could slow down the shutter speed and get the effect of slow moving water.
Please don't hold it against me if I toot my own horn a bit, but I am a bit proud of the shot below. The company that owns this apartment complex has hired several professional photographers in the past. None of them have been able to capture this mural due to it's location and the fact that there are power lines right in front of it. I was able to use my ultra-wide angle lense to get very close so the powerlines were not blocking the mural. I then used Photoshop to take them out of the sky.
